CrossFit is an evidence based strength and conditioning program built on constantly varied, functional movements, executed at high intensity. It was developed to enhance each individual’s competency at all physical tasks. This is also referred to as General Physical Preparedness. CrossFit started in Santa Cruz, CA back in 2003 and is now an internationally accredited performance based fitness program with over 7000 affiliates worldwide. We are a private fitness program where clients can workout only under the direction of an Accredited CrossFit Coach.

Who can participate in CrossFit?

CrossFit can be adapted to all ages and ability levels. We have proven success with the weekend warrior, elite athletes, and older adults. The CrossFit approach challenges an individual at their current level of fitness and progressively moves each person to greater levels of fitness. The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual, regardless of experience. We do require any new members to participate in an On-Ramp class before joining the Work Out of The Day (WOD). Please email info@tctotalcrossfit.com with questions about how to get started.

What type of instruction is available?

Clients participate in any of our scheduled group classes. This is not a facility where people come in and do their own workouts. We do require any new members to participate in an On-Ramp class before joining the Work Out of the Day (WOD). Please email info@tctotalcrossfit.com with questions about how to get started.

What is a typical class like?

Each class begins with clients working on a variety of muscle recovery techniques that will help increase flexibility and prepare muscles for the activities they are going to do. As a group clients will participate in an instructor lead warm up, which gives the coaches the opportunity adjust form and check in with each client. We then begin the skill/strength portion of class. This is where we work on some of the more technical skills of CrossFit or on building some strength in our core moves. Then it is time for the actual ‘workout of the day’ (WOD). The whole process takes less than an hour. Clients are encouraged to relax & stretch after class to record their times and weights.

I’m in pretty good shape, I already do (insert activity here).

Let us be very clear. Doing multi-joint exercises in a high intensity group setting is not something the rest of the fitness world is used to. We come from a broad fitness background and we’ve tried it all. Our “Workout of the Day” is a high intensity and motivating experience. Everyone needs to ease into the workouts to provide a safe transition into the CrossFit style workout. This is why we require that any new members participate in the On-Ramp class. Please email info@tctotalcrossfit.com with questions about how to get started.

Can you assure me I’ll get in better shape?

If you listen and put in the effort, you will see a performance increase, plain and simple.

“Since committing to the CrossFit philosophy I have lost thirty pounds, had several podium finishes in 5k and triathlon, and set personal records in my 5k,10k,15k, back squat, dead lift…you get the picture.”

“I’m 49 years old. I started CrossFit one year ago. As a woman, I wanted to gain and maintain upper body strength. I also wanted to make sure that I kept my bones strong and healthy. At TC Total CrossFit I’ve gained much more than that. I am stronger in my abs and legs and I have the confidence that I can do anything that I put my mind to. The workout times fit my schedule and the people are great. Everyone supports and encourages each other. Thanks to Christi, Scott and Mike for making it happen!”
– Sandy Swartz

“Regardless of your fitness goal, CrossFit can get you there. Strength, flexibility, endurance, appearance; I’ve seen improvements in each, and quicker than I anticipated.

The functional, whole-body movements combine strength with balance and coordination in ways simple curls or presses never could.

Now anyone could get these benefits for free by following so why would I join TC Total CrossFit? Because they have provided what no website can – a community that cares about your success, that can help you avoid injury and perfect your technique, and that knows what you’re capable of and will push you to achieve more.

I know I’ve progressed farther and faster than I ever did at a regular gym, and even more than working with a personal trainer.

If you want to overcome your own internal obstacles, you owe it to yourself to check out TC Total CrossFit.”
